Baba Book Club & Seva Day

Every Month We Serve the Community

“You need to develop your heart and your soul to have a helping nature. Without your notice, your mind and your heart and your soul will turn you into a person of pure love. Wherever pure true love is, there is God. Without your notice, He will stay in you. He’s around you."

- Sri Kaleshwar on Seva/Charity

Hellp us raise money for the homeless, hanicapped and those living in abject poverty

2025 - Please send donations to support the LA shelter & homeless in India today.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Merry Christmastime! We need you and your loved ones' help to feed, clothe, and bring some cheer to the homeless locally in Los Angeles and abroad in India this Christmas.

In the USA, your donations will go to help a private homeless shelter for single mothers and their kids to keep them off the streets to feed, shelter, clothe and protect them from abusive family members. This shelter survives solely off donations from the local community, and without us, they would have no Christmas. With your help, we will be able to give them daily necessities as "gifts" and each child a toy.

In prior years, we donated blankets, bedding, and pillows for everyone, and one of the kids came up to Juleann, tugged at her shirt, and said, “Thanks for the pillow, lady!” That thanks goes to you and everyone who gives anything.

In India, many people are suffering, including handicapped and elderly who are homeless, and the government does not help. They beg for daily food and warm blankets or a jacket because they don’t have enough. They live on the land of others under tarps or dilapidated make-shift structures. It is truly heartbreaking to see. It is now winter in India, and many of them are shivering in the cold at the base of the mountains shivering cold without warm clothing or a blanket at night. They come daily to the main temple in Haridwar, India to beg for any help. During Juleann’s travels during the lockdown, she met many of these kinds of poverty-stricken families. We want to do more than just give ourselves, but we heartfully ask you all to give whatever you can too.

Our group now includes a priest, Mahesh at the main temple in Haridwar, who purchases dry food (rice, wheat, dhal, etc.), clothes (jackets and blankets) like last years in the cold winter, and blankets. We have not been able to yet raise enough money to help everyone but we would like to help as many people as we can this year with all the donations everyone gives.

We take not even one penny for ourselves; This is a project of selfless service (seva). Please give any amount you can to help, as even $1 can buy some food for the poorest of the poor in India.

Thank you everyone for anything you can give, as every donation makes a difference. If you can give $5, $35, $50, $100, $500 or even $1000, it is all needed. When we asked how much money we needed to raise to help the homeless in Haridwar, we were told it will never be enough because there are too many homeless living there.

We will post pictures on this page after the event.

Please heartfully share the link to this webpage with at least 10 people to be able to help more people. Thank you again for anything you can give to help. God bless you. May everyone everywhere be fed, happy, and their basic needs met now.

To Help Us Love All Serve All

what is seva?

Selfless service, or seva, is simply defined as selflessly helping others. It is actually said that seva is for yourself, not others, as when you selflessly help others, your negative karmas are being purified and washed. Helping and serving others is actually a wonderful spiritual mechanism to heal and uplift your own soul! If you are feeling depressed, lonely, sad, etc, come join us to uplift and shift!

Every month we come together for Baba Seva Day to selflessly serve our community, group, and each other. Throughout the year, we sponsor the distribution of food, jackets and blankets to homeless of California, USA and India, giving love to those in need.

We also do two larger charity events in December and July to heartfully and selflessly serve humanity. At Christmas we provide a heartwarming event to battered women and their children living in a homeless shelter, to experience the gift of Christmas. With funds we raised, we provide basic necessities and a simple gift for the children to share in the joy and love of the season.

During our summertime Sacred Soul Journey we host a special event for impoverished children in India to receive school supplies, and bring them happiness and joy.

Shirdi Sai Baba Global Services meets once a month to do seva and we would love for you to join us.

the baba book club

sharing & learning about & from the works of enlightened masters

Throughout the year we read + discuss knowledge and information from the works of enlightened masters and how we can grow our souls from what we read and discovered.

Each month after our day of seva, we gather in the early evening to share about what we learned from the books, information and topics chosen. Some of the books we have read and discussed were written by or about: Shirdi Sai Baba, Sri Kaleshwar, Jesus, Paramahansa Yogananda, Ramana Maharshi and more...

Please join us in person or wherever you live to do charity work to serve.

For our January 14th book club meeting, we will discuss our reading or topic of the month at 6:00pm, via zoom, please sign up at the link below and a zoom link will be given (or attend live).

6:00pm - 7:00pm Shirdi Sai Baba Global Services Book Club. We end the day celebrating the teachings of the enlightened masters with a discussion about our reading or topic for the month. The book club is reading the Shortcut to Enlightenment. This book, Shortcut to Enlightement written by a direct student of Avatar Sri Kaleshwar, relates how the longing for the divine and the eternal truth can be fulfilled through a relationship with a master. The Indian saint Sri Kaleshwar has brought about a true revolution in spirituality. Everyone who follows his advice faithfully can become a master.

We will be starting this book at the January meeting. Please have read a quarter of the book by then.
